Let me share the actual email with you, then I’ll
share the lessons.

Now the lessons:

1) I noticed the email first because the “From” field
contained a trusted friend’s name.

2) The “Subject” line promising a great photo nudged
me further to open it. Hint: A promise of new
photos of kids or pets works beautifully.

3) It made me smile, causing me to want to pass
it on.

You see, Mark is an expert marketer who totally
gets great copywriting, human psychology, and
building great relationships.

That also gave me a segue to share with you how I
expect to sell THOUSANDS of copies of my simple
soul food cookbook in the next 3 weeks, and how
you can do the same with a similarly appropriate
product.

In fact, I have absolutely no doubt that each of
the next three weeks will be six-figure weeks

I wrote my cookbook back in 2000, and it has
been a steady seller ever since. That proves that
you don’t need a breakthrough new product to do
well selling things online.

You DO need a product that lots of people want,
and you need a way to let them know about it, and
you need to be able to communicate with them
effectively.

I probably learned some of the things I understand
on each of those aspect directly from watching
Mark over the years.

At the same time, I do watch what is working best
in my marketing very closely, and I notice changes.

One of the things that has changed the most in
the past year is that far more people are now
accessing the web via mobile devices (iPhones,
iPads, Androids, tablets, etc) than are accessing
the internet via regular computers.

I’ve seen statistics telling me that five times
as many people access the internet via their
mobile devices as do with a computer.

Those same people do BUY right over their mobile
devices… a lot of them

That told me that my customers for my cookbook are
MOSTLY not on computers, and that if I don’t reach
out to them, then I’m PREVENTING 85% of my potential
sales.

Since I know that most of my competitors are facing
the same problem, it also showed me an EASY way to
gain a competitive advantage.

I simply had a mobile app developed that let people
access my website (and buy my products) right over
their mobile devices.

I had apps developed for the iPhone, iPad, Android,
and HTML5 compatible devices. That lets people on
practically ANY smart device access and interact
with my website without ever going online.

Now, millions of people can pull up my website while
in the kitchen and look up a recipe, or request one
from others who have my apps installed, or read
my latest blog posts, or watch a cooking video
posted on my YouTube channel, or visit Facebook,
Twitter, and numerous other places right from online.

This all sounds high tech, but it cost me less than
$500 to open the door to hundreds of millions of
potential users.

Another HUGE benefit of my apps is the ability to
send “push notifications.” I can, at any time, log
into a control panel, compose a short message, and
send it to EVERYONE who has my apps installed. In
seconds, MILLIONS of people could potentially be
getting a popup message on their phones (one that
almost 100% of people can’t resist responding to).

Naturally, I don’t want to abuse that functionality,
or people will just uninstall the app. However, it
does let me send appropriate, very effective
messages to my ideal customers at will.

Those messages get delivered, and then get read!

There’s a family in Canada who
have a young daughter with some mental challenges.
But she’s the sweetest, kindest, most gentle child
you’ll ever encounter.

The family had a fire once and
the conclusion of the fire inspection
pointed all fault on the young girl.

She didn’t do it.

They repaired the home and another fire broke out.

Once again, the officials pointed the fault
on the child who wasn’t even in the same location
as where the fire originated.

The authorities sought to remove
the child from the family as a “necessary means”…

The family was distraught.
But they stood by their daughter and fought back.

They won back temporary custody. Until…
You guessed it.
A third fire burned their home down again.

This time it’s not even positive the little girl
was even in the home at the time.
But authorities chose once again
to fault the poor child.

Shamed and dejected, this 3x wrongly-accused
child is now blazing a trail
[pun intended for others being abused
by "the system" for wrongdoings they never committed].

but here’s the thing…
are you ready for this…

This little girl could sit around
blaming the authorities and go down the path of
“If everyone thinks I am ‘bad’, I might as well be…”

(an attitude unfortunately too common
among those who experience similiar trials and tribulations)

Or she could “hate” her accusers – or
even resent her family -
for “letting this happen”

(of course, they didn’t – they are fighting
every day – but remember,
this is often a victim’s perception)

She could also easily become
depressed and turn to temporary solutions to
numb the pain she is feeling.

but she’s not doing ANY of these things

She is writing her story.
She is sharing her story.
She is advocating for herself and others.
She is turning HER tragedy into triumph.

She says this happened to her
for a “bigger” reason…

(so wise beyond her years)

Because SHE has a voice that won’t
be quieted – A voice she is now
using to help others in similar situations “fight back” -
if only in their hearts and minds…

She’s wants to help others see that
holding a “victim mentality” simply means
YOU will continue to travel down those
painful roads often reserved for people
who have been victimized once…

And so get lost in their situation frequently resulting
in their getting victimized over and over again.

She is getting published because this
situation has changed her life and instead
of taking it lying down…

She is standing up for herself and
others who just can’t.

She is a young girl.
She now has a wisdom and life path usually
reserved for those much older.
But not wiser.
She is wise.
Difficultly earned…
but greatly deserved.

If this child can get her story – have
the courage to get her story – “out there”…
So can you.
No more. excuses.
No “but(s)…” or
“I can’t because(s)…”
