My subject line above is a question that many online
coaches and mentors get routinely.

We are all masters at creating websites where the
words are so enticing that they leave the person
who still struggles “just to make ends meet,”
salivating.

It is true… after 16 years as an internet marketer,
joint venture broker, author, platform speaker,
product creator, and someone who has gone through
“the school of hard knocks,” I have figured out a
way to earn an above average living.

I do now live a dream life-style, sometimes taking
exotic cruises back-to-back months, and vacationing
in exotic lands. I do make more most months than
the average person does in a year!

I have a confession to make though…

If you visit my Facebook profile, you’ll see that I
share literally thousands of pictures from my life.
I share pictures of me doing all of those things that
most people feel that they can’t do.

My Facebook profile is at:
http://Facebook.com/WillieCrawford1/

The secret is that when I do share my world, I’m
selling. I’m selling you on the dream that if you do
what I do, or buy my training, then you can have that
lifestyle too.

All of my “guru” friends do the same thing, though they
may not admit it. We might show you a life-style of
just surfing all day, and hanging out with Hollywood
celebrities. You watch that, see that we actually DO
live that way, and secretly ask why can’t you do the
same.

You reason that you are an honest, hardworking person,
who also realizes that you do have to put in a little
effort… but you’ve already put in a LOT of effort,
and it just hasn’t happened for you.

The reality is that practically all of us who have
“made it” had mentors, and did a lot of studying, and
put in a lot of long hours. I personally put in many
16-18 hour days when I was just getting started. When,
I get really excited about a project that I’m working
on today, I can still find myself working 18 hours to
get that project finished… even when I outsource many
of the routine tasks.

So those who have figured it out, show you proof that
we have… somehow… actually figured it out, and we
offer to teach you what we have discovered.

IF you do what we did, and conditions are the same,
then you should get the same results.

There is no arguing with that.

The problem is that by the time we’ve put in all of
those long hard hours, we figure out that our time
and expertise really is very valuable. Many of us
earn more than PhD’s, MD’s, lawyers, and even many
politicians and third-rate celebrities

What we’ve struggled to learn IS that valuable, or the
market wouldn’t pay those prices for it.

Which brings us back to the problem faced by the person
willing to put in the work but who can’t afford it.

Take the case of my Joint Venture Broker Certification
Training. I earn much of my income by helping people
who have product launches to recruit affiliates and
help them have massively successful launches. I do
more than just recruit affiliates, I help my clients
to flow out and manage their entire launches, so that
they will be successful.

The reason that I do all of the thing necessary to
make my clients’ launches successful is that my pay is
contingent upon the success of the launches. I get paid
10% of the gross revenue from all of the sales made
by all of the affiliates that I recruit, plus a
negotiated upfront fee (which is really a consulting
fee).

So, the more successful the launch is, the more I
make. I treat each launch as if it were my OWN
product, and probably put as much time and energy
into the launch as the product owner does. So, I
EARN that 10%.

If I help my client to make an extra $500k in sales,
then my commission is $50k. If I help my client to
make an extra $3 million in sales, then my
commission is $300k.

Here’s my angle… After 16 years in the trenches as
an “internet marketer” and 8 years as a joint venture
broker, I actually AM one of the best. I spent all
that time honing my skills in order to make that so,
and I still study and improve my craft EVERY day.

So when people google terms such as “joint venture
broker” I dominate the search engine results! That’s
because I put in the time and effort to actually
develop the expertise.

I now accept a few apprentices each year, and put them
through a full year of mentoring. I have them first
go through 60 hours of recorded training. Then I
hand them a pre-screened product launch (one that
I am convinced has tremendous potential), and I work
with them side-by-side as they get hands-on training
in brokering the launch.

WE do this over and over again for a full YEAR.

At the end of that year, I will have transferred all
of my PRACTICAL knowledge to my proteges, and
they will be true experts who can easily command the
same fees that I do.

Since I do value my time very highly, and would
actually rather spend it on some exotic beach,
watching my grandchildren play in the surf, I do
charge $10,000 for that training. That’s $10,000
upfront or $997 per month for 12 months.

After looking at the actual time involved in this
training, I realized that I should have priced it
MUCH higher, and so I will increase the price on
my personal mentoring as a joint venture broker to
at least $25,000 next January. In fact, I’ll do that
while I’m on the annual Marketers Cruise, where I’ll
also conduct a small, private meeting with many of
the proteges that I have already trained.

My training will include two annual private
masterminds (one on the Marketers Cruise and one at
a beach-side gathering near my house each June).
These private masterminds are where the experts in
our profession discuss common challenges, and share
ideas. They are absolutely priceless, and are a
part of my “continuing education” that keep my
students learning but also keep me learning.

Anyway, most people will look at my training, see
the tremendous potential, and feel that they can’t
afford it. People who want to do many things feel
the same way.

The young man (or woman) who is really good at
fixing cars, sees that if they could get the right tools,
a little more training, and a physical shop, then they
could easily earn six or seven figure per year. Yet they
see no way to make that happen, so they give up on
that dream forever.

Most people who take a deep look at my training,
do the same thing. They see it as impractical…
some even feel that it’s impossible.

That happens everyday with probably hundreds of
thousands of people who look at training programs
online. They get their hopes up, look at the
tuition, and go back to living a life that they
hate… and feel trapped in!

I asked myself WHY I couldn’t allow a student
to go completely through my training, and then
pay me out of their earnings. If I’m really as good
as I say that I am, and I properly screen students,
then I should be able to teach them to do what I do,
and they should be able to easily pay me out of their
earnings!

Well, that is a nice theory, but the reality is that
most people, unless they do “have some skin in the
game” simply won’t follow through. They will let me
pour all of my time and energy into training them,
researching possible joint ventures for them to
broker, and in mid-stream, when it seem a little
tougher than it first sounded, change their minds.

I try to screen out people who would do that, but am
not 100% successful, since I don’t put them through a
full personality and psychiatric testing battery.

Anyway, against my better judgment, I have decided
to accept a maximum of 10 (TEN) new apprentices
where I shoulder 90% of the risk.

If you are willing to invest just the first $997
payment, that will put you on the monthly payment
plan where you’ll have to pay $997 per month for
12 months.

HOWEVER, your next $997 payment won’t be due until
you earn many times that much from actually doing
what I will teach you to do.

You will have to pay that first $997 because you
do need to have some skin in the game. It’s the
only way that I can reduce the probability of your
wasting my time and energy.

We will step you through the recorded training,
identify a first project for you to actually flow
out and make successful, and then we will do that
launch together. You will do the work, but we’ll be
in constant contact via phone, Skype, face-to-face
meetings at live events, etc.

You will make the remaining tuition payments out
of your actual earnings.

In fact I do two things differently than someone
who just wants your money, and really hopes that
you hand it over and go away…

1) I require an interview so that I know that we
are a match for each other. We can start that
interview with you sending an email to me at:
willie.crawford@gmail.com with the subject:
“Interested In Being A JV Broker.”

If you don’t use that subject line, you’ve already
indicated that you can’t follow simple instructions,
and probably disqualified yourself.

2) I send you an invoice for your tuition each
month. Most programs that you enroll in will sign
you up for some type of automated payment plan,
and then they hope and PRAY that you don’t notice
that payment each month and cancel.

I want that payment, and the commitment that you
have made to me and to YOURSELF, to be at the
forefront of your mind. I don’t want to try to sneak
it by you, I want you to remember that today was
the day that you decided that you would actually
change your life.

By the way, you are the only one who can do that.
I can guide you if you allow me to, but otherwise,
no one can help you. So, you have to take an
honest look at your life and ask if you are really
ready to make a change, or if you prefer living
with excuses.

This note is getting long. If it’s meant for you,
then send that email to me at:
willie.crawford@gmail.com using the subject line:
“Interested In Being A JV Broker” and we’ll see if
we are meant to work together.

If it’s not meant for you, then I hope that this note
has still put a lot of things in perspective for you.

With love,
Willie

Real Experts, And Those Faking It Until They Make It
Copyright 2012 by Willie Crawford

Let me begin by saying that even among the most seasoned
experts that I know, there is a twinge of feeling that
they are not really as good as the world seems to think
that they are.

That’s just human nature.

We know that part of what makes us “an expert” is being
good enough at something that the world declares us an
expert. We don’t always see ourselves the way that the
world does!

Several years ago, I recorded an interview of my friend
Rich Schefren, where one of the questions that I asked
him was “How do you attract customers looking for an
expert, when you are just starting out and aren’t really
an expert?”

Rich’s answer was to “be your authentic self,” and to
acknowledge that no matter what point you are at in your
chosen profession, you are ahead of many others and that
you are therefore qualified to teach them.

He emphasized that rather than “faking it until you
make it” that you find those looking for what you actually
have.

Today, as I ponder that question, and see many people in
many niches teaching things that they know absolutely
nothing about, I personally answer that same question
differently.

I’ve been a teacher all my life (farming, mail-order,
aviation skills, karate, various online marketing skills),
and know that even most teachers have to start somewhere,
and aren’t experts when they first start.

Today, I actually have the audacity to tell people that
I AM one of the best in the world at several things that
I do.

Then I challenge myself to actually make sure that I am.

I believe that this is the solution to the timeless
dilemma many people face, of how to get others to believe
that you are expert enough that they are willing to pay
you for that expertise. Many of us NEED for others to see
us as experts anyway, and validate us.

My answer IS that you need to actually BECOME that expert.

You see, while many others are faking it, many of them
are also so busy faking it that they miss the fact that…

IF YOU JUST SPEND AN HOUR OR TWO PER DAY ACTUALLY STUDYING
AND PRACTICING YOUR CRAFT, YOU QUICKLY BECOME A REAL EXPERT.

It’s simple isn’t it?

Repetition is the mother of mastery in many things.

For some reason, many of us look at a skill that we know
is valued enough that if we could actually do it, the
world would happily pay us so much more, and we don’t see
that all we need to do to reach that point is to start
studying and doing.

I’m actually “semi-proficient” – meaning I can manage to be
understood when necessary – in five languages.

I remember being first assigned to the Philippines, and
having an interest in learning the language (Tagalog).
Many co-workers, even some married to Filipinos for years,
often said to me that they didn’t speak the language because
Filipinos all speak English, and besides there are hundreds
of different languages/dialects and slight variations of
those dialects.

That was actually true, but Tagalog was the official
national language, and I felt that I could related better
to the people in their own language, so I got a 20-cassette
course, and I listened, and then began to practice.

Today, I feel perfectly comfortable engaging Filipinos in
Tagalog, and while I don’t consider myself an expert, in
the eyes of many of my American friends, who have had
Filipino spouses for 20, 30, or 40 years, but never learned
the language, I AM an expert.

Incidentally, I study languages because it does help me to
understand other cultures MUCH better.

When I wanted to become an expert copywriter, I practiced
writing copy. Today, most of the copy that I write takes
very little effort.

When I wanted to become an expert professional speaker, I
enrolled in a course offered by my friend John Childers,
let him teach me the craft, and then actually got on stage
and spoke dozens of times. Today, many would consider me
an expert speaker, and I turn down numerous invitations to
speak each year. I get those invitation BECAUSE of the
perception that I’m an expert.

When I wanted to become an expert joint venture broker, I
purchased a course on the topic (back in 2004) offered by
a young man named Jason Cox, tested out what he taught and
discovered that IT WORKED.

Wanting to get even better as a joint venture broker, I
purchased everything that I could find on the topic and
spent many years actually DOING what I was taught, and
in the process, I developed into one of the leading joint
venture experts in the online space.

Next I asked myself a really tough question. How do you
really, really, really become the best-of-the-best and
prove that… to yourself.

How do you know in your heart-of-hearts that you really
know your topic.

The answer to me was that you teach others the topic
and you evaluate the results. In my years of teaching
things like karate, air navigation skills, and online
marketing, I found that it was often a lot easier to do
than it was to transfer that knowledge and the necessary
skill-set to others.

In the Air Force, we use to have a joke (that I’m sure
is shared in other cultures) that “Those who CAN do, and
those who CAN’T teach!”

You do have to admit that if a guy had a lot of book
knowledge, but was inept in the actual aircraft, it might
make more sense to use him to teach in a classroom or
in a flight simulator

Today, I actually challenge myself to become better and
better as a joint venture broker by mentoring others. You
don’t know how much more you have to learn about a topic,
until your students start asking you tough questions.

That was actually one of the most insightful things that
I discovered as I advanced through the ranks in karate,
and began teaching others. The black belt only meant that
you had stuck with it long enough, and shown enough promise
to some teacher, that you were now ready to really start
learning. Then when you start teaching junior students,
you see how little you actually know

I’ve probably rambled on long enough, but also hope that
I answered that burning question of what do you do if you
are not really THE expert.

You become that expert by studying, training under a mentor,
and actually doing… over and over again.

Rob Wiser is the client of David Canham, one of the joint venture
brokers that I personally trained (and continue to mentor) in how
to put together large, lucrative product launch joint ventures.

Rob’s product is called “Google Resurrection” and as I reviewed the
product when David first told me about it, I was VERY impressed.

One of the things that I teach my joint venture broker proteges
is to only take on clients with top quality products that work
as advertised, and that the market needs and wants. When David
showed me Google Resurrection, I saw that he had a product that
was going to do very well for him and Rob.

As I chatted with Rob and one of his friends, Zack, there in
the Philippines, I discovered that they were expert enough at
SEO and website traffic generation that they had some very big
clients targeting some VERY competitive terms in one of the most
competitive niches around.

Naturally, I took advantage of the meeting and spent several
hours picking their minds, as we sat under at the covered picnic
table, situated under a coconut tree there about 40 years from
the beach.

The picnic table is made of concrete, and many things around
us were made of bamboo, because where I was sitting is often
flooded when typhoons roll in off the South China Sea.

By the way, to learn more about my joint venture broker
training, please visit: http://JointVenturePhd.com

One of the Rob’s JV Broker, David, is to also travel to
places like the Philippines. Don’t be surprised to see
a video of the two of us together hanging out on one of
these beaches, brainstorming product launches, and just
enjoying our jobs… which as you can see, really isn’t
work

Since I’ve written a lot about the fact that I train joint
venture brokers, I’m often asked what my training entails.

I haven’t previously put that on a webpage because it’s
not a mass-market thing.

Here’s…

A Snapshot Of My Joint Venture Broker Training
And Certification

Since 2004, I have earned a major portion of my online
income from brokering joint ventures. What I basically
do is go out and recruit, and motivate affiliates for
other people’s product launches.

I also use my 16 years of internet marketing experience
to review EVERYTHING about the product that I’m helping
to launch including the product itself, the entire
sales funnel, etc.

So, my JV brokering also equates to a consultation. I
do offer regular consultations, on an hourly, monthly
and annual (retainer) basis. You can read a little
more about that on my site at:
http://williecrawford.com/mentoring.html

Before I take on clients as a JV broker, for consultation,
or as a student, I put them through a mini-interview.

That’s because I absolutely insist upon only working with
people that I like and resonate with. Life is too short to
get stuck working with people (or on projects) that you
don’t really care for.

I work as a joint venture broker from my cell phone and
laptop as I travel the world, take several exotic cruises
a year, and enjoying life. For example, this year, I
will take trips to Australia, Hawaii, the UK, Thailand,
and The Philippines (two trips to the Philippines).

I can afford this lifestyle because, as a joint venture
broker, I get paid 10% of the gross revenue generated
by all of the affiliates that I recruit for my clients. I
don’t typically take on projects that I think will make
less than $500,000 in sales, and I focus on projects that
will make several million in sales. So that 10% adds up.

At the same time, I choose to only take on a few projects
per year… based upon how much I want to work.

The reason that a joint venture broker gets paid so
handsomely is that it’s generally a lot easier to create
a product, and sales process, than it is to get large list
owners to promote your product. The large list owners and
centers-of-influence often get approached DOZENS of times
per month requesting that they promote products.

My training teaches you how to identify, contact, and
convince these large list owners, and centers-of-influence
to agree to and then actually PROMOTE your clients products.

I put my students through 60 hours of recorded training
(videos from live training workshops that I’ve taught and
audio from tele-classes that I’ve taught). After the 60
hours of recorded training, then you are ready to begin a
full YEAR of hands-on training.

For the next year, I work hand-in-hand with the apprentice
joint venture broker as you help clients to flow out and
then carry out product launches.

I work with you on as many projects as you do in that year,
but YOU do the work, I don’t. If I’m going to do all of the
work, then I would simply be the joint venture broker for
the launch myself.

In my 16 years as an internet marketer, I’ve seen many more
product launches fail, or succeed only marginally, than I
have seen achieve major success. Most internet marketing
gurus don’t talk about their failures that often, but I’m
friends with most of the old-timers, and we talk about what
has and hasn’t worked among ourselves.

Entrepreneurs who create and launch their own products are
risk-takers by nature, and they don’t realistically expect
everything that they do to succeed massively. Entrepreneurs
realize that you have singles, home-runs, and that sometimes
you strike out. Entrepreneurs earn more than the average
person because they are crazy enough to take the necessary,
calculated risks!

I’ve had behind-the scenes looks at literally hundreds of
product launches. I’ve gone through all of the major
(and many minor) courses on product launches and brokering
joint ventures (deal making) and as a result am a
storehouse of practical knowledge.

I’m trained as a classroom instructor, and in my military
background, I trained as an instructor in a life-and-death
environment. I trained students to navigate aircraft and
do airdrops in an environment where a mistake could
literally kill many people… including the young
paratroopers that I’ve air-dropped tens of thousands of.

As a result of my experience, I understand transferring
practical skills to a student, and stepping them through
handling the stresses of “the heat of battle!” Make no
mistake about it, when you are orchestrating a multi-
million dollar (or even $300,000) product launch, and
you are in the middle of the launch, and things are not
going as anticipated, it’s as stressful as any battle that
I’ve seen.

Soldiers plan things in excruciating detail, knowing that
every plan changes, often drastically, in the heat of
battle, and that there is a reason that they call it “the
fog of war.”

I step my clients through this process, and often things
go exactly as planned, but somethings we encounter
unexpected circumstances.

I work hand-in-hand with my students, as they step their
clients through this process.

The ability to engineer or facilitate a successful product
launch is one that people don’t mind paying 10% (or more)
for. They understand that if their launch fails, 100% of
nothing in NOTHING. Many product owners also understand
the concept of a 2-tier affiliate program, so they also
view your JV broker’s fee as akin to a 2nd-tier commission,
but as a broker, you can also often negotiate an additional
upfront fee. That extra fee is akin to a consultation fee.

If you actually looked at the webpage that I gave you the
url to earlier: http://williecrawford.com/mentoring.html
you’ll see that small business owners who retain my services
pay me $50,000 per year largely to be able to call me up
from time to time (or meet with me face-to-face when they
travel to where ever I am at).

Those who don’t anticipate needing my services for a year
can call me from time to time to discuss projects for $5000
per month. I charge $3000 to review an ebook or piece of
software… and offer feedback on it’s feasibility during
a product launch.

My apprentice joint venture brokers pay me a mere $10,000
for me to transfer my 16 years of internet marketing and
product launch knowledge to them. I transfer that knowledge
the same way that I do to students that I instruct in the
martial arts. I assess where they are, and I move them as
fast as they prove to me that they are ready for. To move
you faster than you are really ready for only does you a
disservice.

I’ve studied, and taught the martial arts for over 30 years,
so I understand conveying knowledge and skill in a practical
manner. I have taken clumsy, fragile kids, and turned them
into amazing, confident, skilled individuals. That’s also
what I do with apprentice joint venture brokers.

I am totally dedicated to your success, should you desire
to become an apprentice, but that also means that I don’t
want to accept you as a student unless you are really,
really serious.

When I first started karate, my instructor had only 5 regular
students. It was at NC State University, and unless I’m
mistaken, I was his only student who was not a graduate
student or professor.

He had one of these students show me ONE “kata,” and then
he required me to practice it for a month before deciding
if I really wanted to join the dojo. After the month, when
he could see that I would be committed to the grueling 4-hour
once-a-week group workouts, plus daily practice on my own, he
accepted me. I’m still his student 33 years later… still
VERY teachable.

I’ve raised the bar as high for apprentice joint venture
brokers because when a product owner comes to you, they
quite literally are trusting you with the success or
failure of their businesses. I won’t put my seal of
approval on anyone who isn’t totally committed to
taking care of those clients… putting the client’s best
interest first.

For the student unable, or unwilling to pay the $10,000
upfront, I offer then the option of paying $997 per month,
for a year. In both cases, my recorded training, and much
of my one-on-one training, and resources (such as example
contracts, swipe files, case-studies) is offered via a
membership site.

After the full year, students who wish to continue under
my guidance, still pay a negotiable monthly fee. At that
point, they will be black-belt joint venture brokers, but
as any experienced martial artist will tell you, reaching
the black-belt level means that you’ve only demonstrated
that you have what it takes for a lifetime of continuing
to learn and hone your skills.

So there you have a snapshot of my training. In-case
you didn’t do the math, with my training, just one $300k
joint venture, properly brokered, will earn you $30k. A
$2 million product launch pays you $200,000. As I’m sure
that you can imagine, it DOES take a lot of skill to be
worth that much to a product owner.

People happily pay me that much for brokering joint
ventures, and I get approached to broker many times more
product launches than it is reasonable for me to even
consider taking on. When I say no, I’m often asked to
recommend someone else. I often recommend one of my
apprentices.

My training and certification does also include handing
you a number of pre-screened joint ventures for you to
broker during the year. After the year is over, I’ll
continue referring projects to you because I will know
beyond a shadow of a doubt that you are capable of taking
exceptional care of the client.

If this sounds like a career that you would like to
pursue, feel free to email me at:
willie.crawford@gmail.com with the subject line,
“Interested In Being A Joint Venture Broker” and I will
get back to you to confirm that I feel we should work
together.

If I decline to take you on as a student, please don’t
take it personally. Life is simply too short to spend
with people who will waste your time. There is a lot
to learn, and much of it will only be mastered through
practical application. So, I’ll be committing to
holding your hand as you master my craft. I don’t make
that commitment lightly.

How I Set Up Many More Joint Ventures Than My Competitors Do
Copyright 2012 by Willie Crawford

Long ago, I declared myself the number one online joint
venture broker. I surveyed the landscape, and didn’t see
anyone else really leading the pack, and so I decided to
develop the necessary expertise.

I developed that expertise by studying what everyone else
was doing, by closely studying dozens of product launches
(using behind-the- scenes data shared by the product owners
who often happened to be friends), and by simply brokering
dozens of joint ventures over a period of 8 years.

I also frequently discussed our profession with other joint
venture brokers. I understood that there is an endless
need for CAPABLE joint venture brokers, so we are not really
competitors. Instead, we taught each other, and we often
refer business to each other.

Time and practical experience are masterful teachers,
although they often take longer than many people are willing
to accept.

Brokering joint ventures is the art and science of accepting
a client’s project, usually a product launch, and then
locating, courting, and recruiting as many suitable joint
venture partners as practical. Acknowledging the 80/20 rule,
it’s not really a numbers game as much as it is the art of
getting a real commitment out of the right people.

The reason that clients need me to broker their joint
ventures is that it’s not as easy as it would at first seem.
The biggest challenge is actually one of breaking through
all of the noise.

In fact, I’ve noticed that that is one of the two main
problems with getting anything accomplished online. There
are so many things competing for your potential joint
venture partners’, or customers’ attention, that it can be
difficult to just get noticed.

You may have the most perfect product in the world, but if
your ideal customers don’t slow down enough to actually
NOTICE, then they will never buy it. Often, once they do
see how well a given product solves one of their major
problems, they thank you profusely.

The other major problem/challenge that you face, it one of
lack of trust. Online, it’s so easy for the criminals to
hide, and pretend to be something that they are not, that
your ideal customers and joint venture partners are WISELY
skeptical.

I overcome both problems by doing something very
old-fashioned…

While many online business owners seek to round up more
customers, subscribers, and joint venture partners, than
their competitors, I seek to form deep REAL relationships
with fewer people.

It isn’t always obvious that this is what I’m doing, but
that is because I have to filter through a lot of people
to find the ones who are the perfect match.

I do this because the 80/20 rules tells me that 80% of my
sales will come from 20% of my customers, and the top 20%
of joint venture partners will produce 80% of my results.

Experience has shown me that it actually makes more sense
to focus on the top 5% of customers or joint venture
partners, than it does to use a shotgun approach.

Since experience has PROVEN this fact to me, my secret to
landing more joint venture partners is actually focusing
on forming fewer, deeper, REAL relationships.

I embrace this very powerful concept so completely that I
even own the domain…
http://BuildingFewerDeeperRealRelationships.com which
shares one of my newer, favorite tools for building
relationships.

That tool is simply an SMS text message WordPress plug-in
that I’ve tied to a dedicated international phone number.
This makes me more accessible than practically any leading
online marketer or joint venture broker, but at the same
time, allows me to choose whom I fully engage.

Actually, I allow them to choose whether or not they fully
engage me.

You see, I’ve set up a phone number, which is: +19175122996

When I give stage presentation, am on radio interviews, or
making any type of public appearance, I simply invite those
who are interested in connecting with me to send a text to
that number with some codeword.

That codeword actually triggers a series of text messages
that I’ve set up to ask a few simple questions, typically
I ask for:

- Their name
- Their email address
- Their niche or interest
- Their Skype Id

With those pieces of data, I can take the initiative and be
the one to actually follow-up.

I’ve been attending live industry gatherings, and speaking
professionally since 2002. During that decade, I’ve handed
out (and collected) well over 10,000 business cards. 99%
of the people who have my card, never follow up. I also have
to admit that I didn’t follow-up with many of the people
that I intended to.

When I use the text message system, if they won’t give me
those bits of requested data, then they disqualify themselves
from being truly interested in that deep, real relationship.

The reason that I ask for that data is that it makes it easy
for me to follow up with them asking for more information
about what they do in their niche or area of interest.

As I coordinate joint ventures and product launches for my
clients, I’m often looking for ideal JV partners who can not
only promote my clients’ product, but who also have their
OWN products that can dove-tail or piggyback on the
momentum of my clients’ launches.

YES, when I say “fewer, deeper, real relationships,” that
does mean that I’m not just looking to USE the joint venture
partners, I’m looking for ways to benefit them long-term too.

I’m looking for ways to connect with those new joint venture
partners and make them the 5-20% in my clients’ worlds, and
to possibly become one of the top 5% in their world who can
make their projects massive successes.

In the world of joint ventures, “joint” means that the every
party must benefit. I totally embrace the concept of
reciprocity, and making connections between people with top
quality products that totally take care of the customers.

Anyway, I’ve just revealed one of my most powerful joint
venture brokering tools. I pay $1 per month for the phone
number, plus 1 penny per text message. Given that ONE ideal
joint venture partners can be worth tens of thousands of
dollars, even hundreds of thousands of dollars, it’s a very
tiny investment.

I do encourage you to check out the plug-in at:
http://BuildingFewerDeeperRealRelationships.com

If you are interested in growing your business by working
with other online business owners to promote their quality
products AND to get some of them to promote your products
or services, then feel free to send a text message to my
number +19175122996

Use the subject “friends” and we can actually start to get
to know each other. If appropriate, you’ll soon have all
of my contact information, and we’ll be working together,
and growing each other businesses.

I’ve been a joint venture broker since 2004… stumbling
into the profession quite by accident. Over the past eight
years, I’ve studied over 100 product launches, and
personally brokered dozens.

I’ve probably seen more product launches that I would rate
as (at least marginal) failures, than I have major
successes. So, I know what it takes to orchestrate a
successful product launch, and what to watch out for!

I started in a era when there wasn’t a lot of formal
training, so much of what I learned was by trail and error,
and I did make my share of mistakes. I also swapped notes
with the other joint venture brokers that I knew… learning
from shared experiences.

Today, I rarely touch a joint venture unless I sincerely
believe that it has the potential to make at least seven
figures. There are so many brilliant people coming online
and launching products that I have the luxury of choosing
only top quality project to take on.

Given that I charge 10% of gross sales, as my broker’s
commission (plus an upfront fee), that also means that I
don’t accept JV brokering project unless I expect to earn
at least six figures in commissions.

Given the leisurely lifestyle that I’ve also chosen, I
also rarely take on more than one new joint venture project
every four-to-six weeks.

Brokering 10-12 joint ventures per year at that price-point,
gives me a seven-figure income from that part of my life,
and also gives me time for mentoring other aspiring JV
brokers.

I’ve personally helped many other JV brokers, and some of
them even mention me as a mentor on their websites, which
I consider quite an honor.

I’ve been asked what’s different about my training as
compared to what’s offered by others.

I’ve conducted two VERY intense 5-day live workshops,
and noticed that my graduates still needed ongoing
mentoring to get really proficient at their new
profession. So, what’s different about my training
today is that I put students that I train through a
full YEAR of mentoring, with me watching over their
shoulders.

By the time that my students are working totally by
themselves, they have numerous successful joint ventures
under their belts and can truly call themselves seasoned
experts.

I also discovered, after training students via my first
two live, 5-day workshops (plus two previous tele-classes),
that the toughest question they often got regarded their
track records.

Today, my students can simply point out that the person
considered the TOP joint venture broker online will be
working alongside them every step of the way.

If I’ve interested you in what I do, I encourage you to
explore my world further. You can get a free MP3 (and PDF
transcript) of an interview that I did, where I actually
share many of my seven-figure joint venture secrets.

You can get that recording here:
http://TheRealsecrets.com/InsiderJVSecrets/

After you listen to the interview, if you decide that you
would like to be trained as a joint venture broker, we can
discuss it. I put my students through about 60 hours of
recorded training (video and audios), and then you are
ready for me to hand you a pre-screened joint venture, and
work with you as you actually do what was taught in my
training.

The training isn’t cheap, but then again, I’m teaching
you something that very few people can do effectively.
I’m also offering you a year of my most valuable asset…
my time.

Anyway, even if you are not interested in being a joint
venture broker, the recording will teach you how to be
MUCH more effective at orchestrating your own product
launches, working with joint venture partners, so go
ahead and download it now at:

Building Fewer, Deeper, REAL Relationships
Copyright 2012 by Willie Crawford

When I first started internet marketing, back in 1996,
I was taught to build a list, build relationships with
list members, and then sell them solutions to their
most-pressing problems.

That is an excellent business model if you actually
take the time to do that, and use the proper tools so
that the process doesn’t become overwhelming.

Most email marketers understand the process to be:

1) You set up an autoresponder.

2) You offer an ethical bribe (a gift) to get them to
join your opt-in list.

3) You give them the gift and then follow-up via
autoresponder with related information, tips, and
product offers.

4) You post your opt-in form and offer in as many places
as practical.

5) You sit back and collect your fortune, generating a
flood of revenue any time that you want it with the mere
push of a button (sending an email)!

MOST internet marketers discover that it’s not really
that simple, when they notice that no one is responding
to most of their emails. They’ve most-likely MISSED the
part about actually building relationships, and providing
genuine value to their readers.

Around 2002, when I attended my first internet marketing
seminar (one that I spoke at), I learned all about joint
ventures. I learned that if you work with, rather than
competing against, others in your industry, everyone
generally does better.

As I learned more and more about joint ventures, I
gradually developed into a joint venture expert, and then
eventually became a joint venture broker. As a JV broker,
I not only made a lot more sales by working with others in
my industry… I also got paid to orchestrate joint ventures
for others who hadn’t completely mastered the craft.

Today, a major portion of my income is from coordinating
joint ventures for my own projects/product launches, and
for those of my clients.

The email marketing and the joint venture brokering
became really, REALLY successful when I learned “the secret.”

That secret is, you actually need to focus on building fewer,
deeper, real relationships!

You are actually (usually) much better off with a list of 1000
subscribers who consistently look forward to, open, read, and
respond to your emails than you are with a list of 100,000 who
don’t.

As someone with numerous lists, in numerous niches, I have
learned this lesson via “the school of hard knocks.”

I’m not advocating that you stop growing your list. I AM
advocating that you actually get to know WHO your list
members are. Get to know what their biggest concerns are,
and what they really expect from the relationship with you
(as a subscriber).

The easiest way to do this is to set very specific expectations
when inviting them onto your list, so that you and your
subscribers understand the relationship right from the very
start.

Later on, if you find that your list has grown unfocused,
and unresponsive, you probably want to conduct a survey
to find out why. You can use many tools to do that survey,
and my preferred method is via an SMS text message
survey. The reason that I like that method is that it also lets
me build out my database more completely.

You see, when most of your subscribers joined your list, they
probably only gave you an email address, and a name. Many
of them probably even gave you a set of initials, a made up
name, or if the name field wasn’t required… no name at all.

When they first joined your list, they didn’t know or trust you.
Now that they do, you should ask for more data so that you
can better know WHO your customers are, and how you can
best serve them.

By getting them to complete the SMS text message survey
that I use, you now get them to give you their full name,
email address, niche or interests, phone number, or any
other data that you ask for.

You can build your survey any way that you want to, asking
any question that you want, using the tool that I use
called “Profile Builder.”

You can see the system that I use to survey my subscribers,
and actually take it for a test-drive if you simply send a text
message to: 850-396-0016 (that IS my actual number). Just
make the subject “Hi Willie.”

I use this very same system to identify and actually get to
know potential joint venture partners.

When you are planning a product launch, it’s very tempting
to want to recruit as many jv partners (affiliates) as possible.

That is often just a lot of wasted time and effort.

With joint venture partners or affiliates, the 80/20 rule
applies, just as it does with so many other things in life.
Only 20% of those who agree to become your joint venture
partners or affiliates are going to take action, and of those,
only 20% are going to produce significant results.

What I’ve discover, as someone who has professionally
brokered joint ventures for others since 2004, is that the
top 5% of your joint venture partners often produce
30 – 50% of your total results.

I’ve also discovered that that top 5% will often be people
that you actually KNOW. These will be people that you’ve
taken the time to learn what really makes them tick. You
know their hobbies/interests, favorite foods, favorite
places, what causes they are really passionate about, what
drives them to be in business in the first place!

I get to know people on this level by meeting them at live
seminars and conferences. There, I sit and talk to them
face-to-face, and I make sure that I get all of their
contact details.

After I get all of their contact details, I make sure that “I”
follow up to continue building the relationship. You see,
95% of people who attend live events, go home, toss the
business cards that they collected into the back of a desk
drawer, and go back to the life they had before the event.
They never follow-up or take any action to continue building
relationships with the nice people that they met and really
liked… and honestly intended to continue building a
relationship with.

I overcame that very natural tendency by automating parts of
building real relationships. You see, what I now do is ask
them to text me at my number 850-396-0016, and when they
do, they are asked to give me their name, interests/niche,
Skype ID, and any other information that I need to actually
follow-up with them and build real, deeper relationships.

I have different information that I request when they text
me using different “codewords.”

When they text me the requested data, it’s stored securely on
my server in a database where I religiously download the data
and add it to my appropriate relationship management system.

Often, I import the .csv file into my account at Send Out Cards,
another relationship building tool that I have been using since
2004. Send Out Cards allows me to send real, physical greeting
cards (and gifts) right over the internet. I use this system to
periodically reach out to contacts AND to make sure that I never
forget a birthday. The SOC system sends me a reminder of
birthdays, anniversaries, etc.

You can see the SOC system at http://TheCardThingy.com

On that site:

1) Click on the link labeled “Join Now”

2) Click on the link labeled “Preferred Customer”

3) Sign up for the $31 per month plan and that will
allow you to send up to 50 greeting cards per month.
Postage is extra… you pay the actual postage based
upon where you live and if you choose to send gifts with
a given card.

If you don’t feel that you will use that many cards, you
can sign up for the $10 per month plan, but if you’re
seriously building your business, you should be following
up like crazy, and will use the $31 worth of cards each month.
They also rollover, so there is no hurry to use them.

If you study the greatest salesman in the world (according
to the Guinness Book of World Records), Joe Girad, who sold
more cars than anyone in history, I’ve just shared his secret
with you. Joe sent his customers greeting cards on a regular
basis, showing them that he actually cared about them, and this
turned them into VERY loyal customers.

It’s really very simple, you build real relationships by showing
people that you actually want to get to know them, and that you
care about them.

They sense that you really do care, and they like you in return,
and when they need what you have to sell, it’s natural for
them to want to buy from a friend.

When you get ready to launch a product, it’s natural for them
to want to help out a real friend that they also assume would
do the same for them.

It’s simple isn’t it?

Using the system that I just showed you, it’s not only
INCREDIBLY effective, it’s also very inexpensive. The SMS
texting that I do costs me $1 per month for the dedicated phone
line, and 1 penny per message sent or received. The data sent
to me via the SMS text messages are actually stored on my site
via a WordPress plug-in that I use.

You can read all about that WordPress plug-in at:
http://BuildingFewerDeeperRealRelationships.com

Now you know the secrets of a 7-figure joint venture broker.
I actually care about people and take the time to build real
relationships with them, and to reach out to them from time to
time and SHOW that I care
