At Micheal Penland’s recent seminar, the topic of success,
risk-taking, fear, and “the midas touch” came up.
During a panel discussion, someone asked about how we
managed to make the right decisions so often, and if we didn’t
fear mistakes, ridicule and the responsibility of runnning a
business.
Every speaker said exactly what I was thinking, which was that
we had passed into some “place” where we just seemed to make
the correct decisions most of the time. Most things that we
touched seemed to have great results… and we no longer
feared mistakes.
I had to acknowledge that I probably choose projects, and
courses of action, based upon intuition and experience that
lead to my hitting more homeruns now. My choices are better
simply BECAUSE I’ve had enough practice making important
choices.
