Let me tell you about my buddy Jake.
Now, Jake is a pretty savvy marketer and makes a darn
good living selling affiliate products.
The main weapon in Jake’s affiliate marketing toolbox
is audio.
You see, Jake has a knack for getting to know the
“Big Dogs” of any niche he enters and does a lot of
interviews of the experts to use for promoting their
products to his list.
He’ll set up an interview and mention his affiliate
link several times during the discussion so that when
people hear it, they can go to the website and
hopefully buy the product, and Jake gets the credit
for the sale.
Like I said, he makes a darn good living doing this,
but there’s one thing wrong with the whole setup…
he’s leaving hundreds and thousands of dollars on the
table.
Right now, you’re wondering “How?” and maybe even
“Why?”
I’m glad you asked.
Because he’s counting on his listeners actually taking
the time to write down the link, type it into their
browser, and go to the sales page and buy.
Now, if you put yourself in the listener’s shoes, how
many steps do you have to take to do this?
First, you have to find pen and paper to write on.
Next, you have to take the time to write down the link,
and you didn’t get it all the first time so you wait for
it to be mentioned again. Now you’re concentrating on
hearing the link so you’re missing out on the content of
the interview.
When you finally do get the link, you’ve missed hearing
the most important part of the interview which is why
you started listening in the first place.
So, having to go through all this, what percentage of
listeners do you think will realistically end up on the
sales page? A very small percentage I’d wager.
Even if thirty percent of listeners go to the site, that
still leaves a large number of people that just don’t
want to expend all that energy.

Percent of your listeners would end up
on your sales page after the interview?
