Internet Marketing During Holidays – Hitting The Wall!

One of the complaints that I’ve noticed on Twitter
is that Internet marketers are still emailing on
IM promotions like crazy.

There was a time when Internet marketers largely
took off the latter part of December because they
knew that many of their customers were on vacation.

There was a time when Internet marketers didn’t
send much email on the weekends because they
knew most of their subscribers weren’t focused on
business.

There was a time when Internet marketers let up
during the summer months, because they assumed that
many of their subscribers were on family vacations.

Today, the volume of email is stifling both on
weekends and during holiday periods. I think part
of the problem is that there are just so many more
people doing email marketing that many marketers
look for periods when they think there will be
less email.

How effective is this though?

I monitor a lot of promotions and a lot of product
launches. Many of them did hit “The Christmas Wall!”
Many launches did have very disappointing results,
and I know several marketers who simply decided to
do re-launches in January.

January has traditionally been a good month to do
a product launch, although this January will likely
have a HUGE number of product launches.

What’s the solution?

With so many product launches, it will be harder
to find affiliates/JV partners who actually promote
your launch.

The answer… strategic alliances and integration
marketing. It’s finding a core of partners who will
promote your products, and you will promote them and
their products…. assuming they produce high quality
products that the market actually wants.
