Late last year, I examined all of the activities that I was
involved in online and decided to make a drastic change. Now,
I want you to benefit from the change that I made.
I decided that, after 13 year in Internet marketing, I no longer
wanted to market your typical “Internet marketing products.”
Many of these products Do work, don’t get me wrong, but most
people who buy them never stick with one thing long enough to
see any meaningful results. They’re constantly chasing the
next shiny thing.
I guess I became somewhat disillusioned because it felt too much
like I was “selling the dream.”
At the same time, with 13 years of personal Internet marketing
experience, plus the endless hours I’ve spent brainstorming with
mentors and peers, I felt that it would be a waste to not pass
that knowledge on.
Back in 2006, I started a membership site, which I named “The
Internet Marketing Inner Circle.” I’ve decided to focus ALL of
my teaching of Internet marketing inside that site, mostly on
our very popular member-only discussion forum.
In fact, in December, I proposed a number of group project to
our members where we jointly produce a product, jointly
market the product, and rotate sales among project participants.
Not all of our members are great sales people, but they have
other talents that contribute just as much to the success of a
project. Not all of our members are comfortable creating or
launching a product on their own… hence I offered to help
orchestrate numerous group projects.
This is actually moving forward nicely, and I’m sure will add a
lot of joy and satisfaction to my year. It gives my Internet
marketing more meaning and purpose than promoting affiliate
product that people aren’t going to use. Inside The Internet
Marketing Inner Circle, we hold each other accountable, and push
each other to not procrastinate, but to get projects finished,
and to get products onto the market.
With many of these projects, we’ll rotate sales, with instant
Paypal payments to project participants. There’s nothing like
getting those Paypal notifications to pump you up.
Anyway, that’s part of my thrust for 2010, and I do want you to
be a part of it. You can get a trial membership in TIMIC for
only $1. That will allow you to look around, say hi to other
members and see what we’re all about. After the trail period
there is a nominal monthly membership fee. Our members
consider their memberships WELL worth it.

is the last link on the page.

My other major change in 2010 and beyond is in WHO my
primary market is. If you’ve been online for more than six
months, you have all of the knowledge and skills necessary
to easily earn a six-figure income.
One of the things that my mentors taught me was to go to where
the money is. That is, offer your goods and services to people
who want them, can afford them, and are willing to pay for
them.
Most Internet marketers don’t follow that formula.
I do, and let me tell you how…
Over the past year and a half, I’ve spent more time networking
with local area business people. I’m an active member of the
Navarre Beach Area Chamber of Commerce. I’m also very active
in the local Glazer-Kennedy Insider Circle chapter. So, active
that at one recent meeting 90% of the invited guests were
people that I had invited
Here’s why that is important…
Local business people in my area, and in your area, are
suffering. The recession has hit many of them hard, and they
are looking for more effective way to drive business through t
their doors. The thing is, tactics and techniques that you, as
an Internet marketer largely take for granted can make a huge
difference in their businesses.
Something as simple as adding a lead capture form on their
website, or adding the proper long-tail keyword to the title
and description metatags on their webpages, can easily triple
the business generated from the internet for them.
Some of these businesses spend $5000 or more per month on
just yellow page advertising. They don’t even know if it’s
working, but it’s a part of their budgeted operating cost.
The sad thing is that these businesses buy that yellow
page ad for the year, and if it doesn’t work (provided they
even know how to track results) there’s no way for them to
change the ad. You point out to them they can easily test
and track their online results, and change things as often
as they need to.
You and I can step in and get them to just shift some of the
funds that they already have budgeted to us, and we do the
things that we already do day-in and day-out to actually
help them improve their businesses.
However, my model is not for me to go out and get a bunch of
web design and SEO work, and then go back to my office and
“knock out” those jobs.
NO, I define what needs doing, get a signed contract that
includes ongoing monthly maintenance, and then I outsource
the actual labor to people who are better at it than I am.
I pay them maybe half of what I collect and I keep the
difference… and I do this month after month.
Can you see how easy this can be and how even the rank
beginner can do it?
If you wanted to, you could even hire commissioned
sales people (that you only pay when they produce results)
to go out and find customers for you. I don’t do that
because as I’ve already pointed out, I spend a lot of time
networking with my ideal customers anyway.
I’m inviting you to do what I do, which is focus on a
niche and customers who already have budgets and are just
waiting for you to come along and show them something more
effective than what they are currently doing.
Many of my friend also do this. I interviewed one of them
on my radio show on January 5th, and you can download the
MP3 from that call 100% free with no opt-in at:
http://timic.org/DavidMP3 The file is actually compressed
into a .zip file for faster download.
I’ve known David, the guy in the interview, for several
years, and in fact he taught me most of what I know about
the business of selling my ecommerce know-how to local
businesses. David and I have spent countless hours
sitting on the patio of a beachfront restaurant in Destin,
Florida, brainstorming and swapping ideas. We’ve spent
even more time on the phone sharing what works best in our
market.
David has a team assembled that he outsources work to, and
I even use that same team.
You can check out what David and I both do at:
http://timic.org/local as in dealing with local businesses.
I beg you not to spend 2010 spinning your wheels, marketing
to the wrong customers when there is such a lucrative,
untapped market of local businesses that need your help,
and will pay handsomely for it.
Another reason that I enjoy working with local business
owners is that they are very proactive. You come up with a
plan, sign a contract, and then things get done. You get
them results, and if you have a monthly maintenance
contract, they pay you month after month.
Isn’t that a better model than what you are currently doing?
Don’t you owe it to yourself, and your family to at least
check it out?
Let me know what questions you have after checking out:

http://timic.org/DavidMP3 will probably answer most of
them
