			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Here are some of the more common questions that I get asked<br />
by people wanting to hire me as a Joint Venture broker.  </p>
<p>1) What do you do?</p>
<p>I review your product, your product launch plan, and your<br />
sales funnel, identifying any weaknesses. Then I identify,<br />
contact and recruit ideal joint venture partners for you.</p>
<p>I follow up with some of these potential JV partners<br />
numerous times in person, by phone, via snail mail, via<br />
email, via Skype, on Facebook, Twitter, Linked In, and<br />
via any other channel that makes sense. </p>
<p>2) How much do you charge?</p>
<p>I typically charge 10% of the gross sales made by all JV<br />
partners that I recruit, plus a $10,000 upfront fee. If<br />
you have all of the pieces of you process in place, the<br />
amount of the upfront fee is negotiable.</p>
<p>3) Do I get to deduct the upfront fee, from your commissions?</p>
<p>No, think of it more as a consulting fee.  I prevent problems<br />
that I&#8217;ve seen happen with dozens of failed launches over<br />
my 15+ year internet marketing career. I&#8217;ve been allowed<br />
to watch numerous launches from behind the scenes.</p>
<p>It covers some of my overhead expenses and is to an extent<br />
what separate me from most people merely recruiting a second<br />
tier.  Most of those people will invest very little time and<br />
energy into your launch.</p>
<p>4) Can I partner with you instead of paying the upfront fee?</p>
<p>Probably not, but everything is negotiable.  I already have<br />
lots of partnerships, and am not really seeking more.</p>
<p>In a few very rare instances, I am willing to partner with you<br />
but it&#8217;s typically cheaper just to hire me.</p>
<p>5) How much lead time do you require?</p>
<p>4-6  weeks from when you first contact me provided the<br />
product is 90% complete. </p>
<p>6) Is the upfront fee  waiveble?</p>
<p>No.</p>
<p>7) Do you require exclusivity?</p>
<p>Yes. If I am going to devote my time and other resources to<br />
your project, then I don&#8217;t want to compete with others that<br />
you hired to do the same thing. You&#8217;re usually better off<br />
going with one JV broker who goes all-out for you than many<br />
who are less incentivized. </p>
<p> <img src='http://williecrawford.com/blog2/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_cool.gif' alt='8)' class='wp-smiley' /> When do you get paid?</p>
<p>As stipulated in the contract.  If it&#8217;s a Clickbank product,<br />
Clickbank can arrange the payments directly, and that is<br />
preferred.</p>
<p>9) Do you require a contract?</p>
<p>Yes. Otherwise there is too much room for misunderstandings.<br />
I have numerous contracts that we can start with, massage<br />
as necessary, and then get signed copies to both parties.</p>
<p>10) When does the agreement end?</p>
<p>That&#8217;s negotiable.  </p>
<p>11) How many JV partners can you get for me?</p>
<p>That depends upon the niche and how many ideal joint venture<br />
partners there are in the niche. I look for centers of<br />
influence, thought leaders and places where people gather<br />
in the niche (approaching parties located via that method).</p>
<p>I also use the search engines, software, and face-to-face<br />
gatherings, but I can&#8217;t guarantee any number of JV partners.</p>
<p>The actual number of JV partners is less relevant that the<br />
number who will actually promote and the number who can<br />
actually produce sales.</p>
<p>12) How many sales can I expect to make?</p>
<p>That depends upon market demand, but I don&#8217;t usually take<br />
on project unless my analysis tells me that they have at least<br />
a $400k potential.  I prefer projects that have a demonstrated<br />
probability of making in excess of $1 million in gross sales.</p>
<p>For smaller projects, with proven potential to make<br />
substantial sales, I can refer you to other joint venture<br />
brokers that have proven themselves capable.</p>
<p>13) What are your typical results?</p>
<p>There are no typical results.  I&#8217;ve recently worked<br />
on projects with forecast earning of $300,000 to<br />
$400,000,0000. </p>
<p>14) Do you help with copywriting, website design, or emails?</p>
<p>No, but I have worked closely with copywriters, programmers<br />
graphic artists, webmasters, etc. and can make recommendations.</p>
<p>15) Do you manage JV partners?</p>
<p>Not typically.  I ensure that a system is in place that makes<br />
the JV&#8217;s job of promoting extremely easy. However, I don&#8217;t<br />
typically  manage them once the launch has started.</p>
<p>16) How do I know if my pricing is right?</p>
<p>We do a market analysis and also look at where you want to<br />
position your product in the marketplace based upon numerous<br />
factors including your branding and name recognition.</p>
<p>17) How do you know if there are other launches at the same<br />
time targeting the same niche or the same JV partners?</p>
<p>I monitor numerous JV networks, am a member of numerous<br />
private sites, and get advance notice of numerous launches.</p>
<p>18) What special qualifications do you have?</p>
<p>I have been selling affiliate products since 1996, have been<br />
launching and selling my own products since 2000, and have<br />
been brokering joint ventures since 2004.</p>
<p>I&#8217;ve studied under or worked with numerous others who<br />
brokered joint ventures, or done major product launches.  </p>
<p>I&#8217;ve probably studied close to 100 product launches in-depth.</p>
<p>I own and have gone through most of the more popular<br />
course on product launches and affiliate management.</p>
<p>19) What if I want to do my own copywriting, design,<br />
programming, etc.?</p>
<p>Unless you have a proven track record, you probably need a<br />
different joint venture broker.  Poor copywriting is what<br />
kills many launches, preventing them from ever gaining any<br />
momentum since potential JV&#8217;s look at the copy and know that<br />
it won&#8217;t convert based upon their experience.</p>
<p>20) Do I need to run a prize contest?</p>
<p>They tend to add excitement to the launch but are not<br />
absolutely required. They do tend to bring the competitive<br />
JV partners on-board many launches.</p>
<p>21) How do I know that affiliates will actually follow through?</p>
<p>You don&#8217;t but if you give them enough lead time to plan a<br />
proper campaign, and you provide them with copy that converts,<br />
and with tools that they know work with their subscribers,<br />
then there is no reason for them not to follow through.</p>
<p>Many don&#8217;t follow through simply because the product owner<br />
doesn&#8217;t get his act together far enough in advance. Many affiliates<br />
(myself included) insist upon a copy of the final version of<br />
the product far enough in advance to actually have time to go<br />
through the product.  We believe that to promote a product<br />
otherwise violates a trust that our subscribers have with us.</p>
<p>22) What if I already know most people in my industry?</p>
<p>We can discuss it, but if you can already contact most of the<br />
people in your industry and recruit them as affiliates, then<br />
you probably DON&#8217;T need my services.</p>
<p>23) Do you specialize in Clickbank launches?</p>
<p>No, I can do product launches on a variety of platforms and<br />
in a variety of niches.  I am VERY familiar with Clickbank<br />
and communicate with them frequently. </p>
<p>24) Do you require that I be on a certain affiliate management<br />
platform?</p>
<p>No, however, I will decline to work on most launches if they<br />
are on affiliate management platforms or with payment processors<br />
that most in that industry are unfamiliar with.</p>
<p>Super affiliates in many niches prefer promoting products<br />
launches using a proven, familiar platform.</p>
<p>25) Can I use a pen name and product avatar?</p>
<p>Maybe, but not in most launches that I would take on.  </p>
<p>Affiliates and customers want to know that the product<br />
works and that the person offering the product has the<br />
expertise to actually address the topic.  </p>
<p>In many instances, the person behind the product is the<br />
most important ingredient in a successful launch. They<br />
often really ARE the product.</p>
<p>26) Can you arrange webinars for me?</p>
<p>Yes, that is one of the things that I typically do for<br />
most clients.</p>
<p>27) Can you arrange interviews for me?</p>
<p>Yes, that is one of the things that I typically do for<br />
most clients.</p>
<p>28) How do we get started?</p>

<p>Include as many details about your product as practical,<br />
and I will get back to you fairly quickly.</p>
<p>29) What is your availability?</p>
<p>Fairly limited.  I often book brokering jobs 3-4 months<br />
in advance. However, there is no harm in asking.  I do<br />
only take on a limited number of JV&#8217;s lately so that I<br />
can really focus on individual projects.</p>
<p>I also have plans to do a lot more leisure travel. That<br />
doesn&#8217;t preclude my working on your projects while<br />
traveling, but it may be a factor.</p>
<p>30) Are product launches the only consulting/brokering<br />
that you do.</p>
<p>No, many of the joint ventures that I&#8217;m working are<br />
not your &#8220;typical&#8221; internet marketing product launches.</p>
<p>I&#8217;ve assisted in launching numerous projects.</p>

Roxie&#8217;s full story:</p>
<p>Roxie Thomas was born and educated in Metro Atlanta, GA.  She<br />
graduated from Georgia State University with a Bachelor of<br />
Business Administration with a major in Decision Science. After<br />
graduation, she spent seven years in the IT industry as a<br />
programmer analyst, quality assurance, and system test analyst.</p>
<p>Roxie had the opportunity to work with investor Bill Ashby, who<br />
later mentored her on how to find and qualify companies seeking<br />
capital.  She continued her business development work and joined<br />
Karen Rand’s team Launch Funding Network (LAUNCHfn) and the<br />
Network of Business Angels and Investors (NBAI).  While working<br />
for these organizations, she developed professional business<br />
relationships with high net worth individuals and companies who<br />
were seeking quality companies to invest.  At this same time, she<br />
screened, developed, and qualified companies seeking capital.</p>
<p>She worked with this team in developing conferences, investor<br />
meetings, and webinars.  Roxie implemented software solutions,<br />
websites, email campaigns, and investor relations.  Her diligence<br />
and combined efforts with the LAUNCHfn&#8217;s team received over $60<br />
Million in capital, which created over 200 jobs, resulting in a<br />
combined revenue of over $100 Million dollars. </p>
<p>With the knowledge gained, Roxie started he own online<br />
consulting company helping business owners with their marketing<br />
efforts.  Her passion for internet marketing led her to train<br />
individuals and corporate business owners on social media,<br />
Twitter, Facebook, Linkedin, WordPress, blogs, articles,<br />
advertising, and online traffic.</p>

<p>In the world of Internet marketing, there are really ONLY two<br />
broad categories of people&#8230; those who make excuses, and those<br />
who &#8220;find a way&#8230; no matter what&#8221;.</p>
<p>I think that I fall into the &#8220;find a way&#8221; category.  As a youth,<br />
stuck in the cycle of poverty and welfare, I certainly didn&#8217;t<br />
see a clear path. I didn&#8217;t have any mentors or role models that<br />
I could conveniently hang out with. So, it took me over 20 years<br />
to figure out how simple success really is.</p>
<p>Another person who clearly fits in the &#8220;find a way&#8221; category is<br />
my friend Clay Cotton. Clay clearly validates that the excuses<br />
category really consists of  people who CHOOSE to make excuses<br />
instead of taking action. </p>
<p>Yes, they chose it.</p>
<p>It&#8217;s interesting. Clay was a talented piano player who once ran<br />
with the likes of Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix and scores of<br />
showbiz legends. That is until the M.S. ended his piano playing<br />
in 1996.</p>
<p>When that great &#8220;excuse to make excuses&#8221; hit Clay &#8220;Pow! Right<br />
between the eyes&#8221; he  gravitated directly to Internet marketing<br />
where Clay and his wife, Kimberly, have made a modest living<br />
since 1996. Clay even taught from the stage in a wheelchair<br />
until 2002 at which point travel became too difficult.</p>
<p>You see, as a result of Multiple Sclerosis, Clay is now nearly a<br />
full-blown quadriplegic.  And Kimberly cares for him, since he<br />
can do very, very few physical things for himself.</p>
<p>Recently, with health care costs ballooning out of control and<br />
mounting bills Clay sized up his situation and asked himself,<br />
&#8220;Good God, what can I do?&#8221;  So he discussed these issues with<br />
several online friends, including me.</p>
<p>Clay agreed that there are tremendous assets which he still has,<br />
aside from his heart-warming, caring personality &#8211; A sociable<br />
nature, an active mind and an ability to talk.  Clay is a giver.<br />
He enjoys people and has a natural talent with words, and for<br />
persuasion.</p>
<p>So last week on the phone, Clay joked that he is evolving into a<br />
genuine &#8220;talking head&#8221;, but then asked, &#8220;Seriously, Willie, how<br />
can I still earn a living?&#8221;</p>
<p>After some lively discussion, Clay decided that he could combine<br />
his &#8220;people&#8221; skills, with my Joint Venture Broker Certification<br />
training. He can be a match-maker, helping connect people in<br />
business. He can actually earn a good living as a joint venture<br />
broker, in spite of his physical challenges. &#8220;So cool&#8230;&#8221;, he<br />
whispered.</p>
<p>As Clay had already checked out the webpage describing my new JV<br />

- But it hadn&#8217;t yet &#8220;clicked&#8221; until  were together on the phone.</p>
<p>Now a joint venture broker simply connects product owners with<br />
joint venture partners and super affiliates who can sell a LOT<br />
of a given product.  The broker locates ideal joint venture<br />
partners, and explains to them why it&#8217;s in their best<br />
interest to tell their customers about a given product.</p>
<p>A JV broker is paid a commission on the sales of joint venture<br />
partners they recruit, and sometimes an up-front fee.</p>
<p>Having spent many hours on the phone with Clay, there is little<br />
doubt in my mind that with just a little training, he will be a<br />
tremendous joint venture broker.</p>
<p>Clay gave this some serious thought, and I could hear the ideas<br />
percolating, then agreed, and he enrolled in my 4-week<br />
tele-training, as you very well may&#8230;</p>
<p>The point here is that Clay could have given up and felt sorry<br />
for himself, and nobody would&#8217;ve argued the point. But&#8230;</p>
<p>Clay Cotton obviously chooses not to make excuses! This is his<br />
chosen way, as I suspect it might be with you</p>
<p>Clay asks himself what he can do to take responsibility for his<br />
future. Pure and simple.</p>
<p>Then he takes action. Period.</p>
<p>Clay clearly belongs in our &#8220;find a way&#8230; no matter what&#8221;<br />
category, and you WILL be hearing a lot more from him over time.</p>
<p>If you are an affiliate marketer, at some point you&#8217;ll most<br />
likely have him contact you about a product which he brokers.<br />
And you&#8217;ll be glad you did&#8230;</p>
<p>So&#8230; What was YOUR Excuse Again?</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>I&#8217;m on my way back home now after a very productive,<br />
and fun, weekend at JV Alert Orlando.  I&#8217;ll post<br />
pictures from the weekend to my blog today.</p>
<p>For the past two weekends, I&#8217;ve been at seminars,<br />
learning from some great speakers, and setting up<br />
numerous joint ventures.</p>
<p>A BIG part of why I attend so many seminars is that<br />
I network, and &#8220;recruit&#8221; joint venture partners there.</p>
<p>I work on joint ventures for my own product launches<br />
as well as those of my clients.</p>
<p>My clients pay me as much as $20,000 up-front, plus<br />
10-20% of sales, when I get super-affiliate to agree<br />
to promote their products.</p>
<p>I don&#8217;t have to tell you that most people launching<br />
products would LOVE to have affiliate who can sell<br />
hundreds of copies with just ONE email.  Many of the<br />
friends that I hang out with at seminars can easily<br />
do that.  </p>
<p>Seminars are one of more than a dozen ways that I<br />
network with joint venture partners and potential<br />
affiliates. </p>
<p>On Monday, February 16th, 2009, I&#8217;m going to start<br />
a 4-week tele-class where I share the secrets to<br />
this very profitable profession.  </p>

<p>The biggest reason that I&#8217;m at JV Alert (my second live<br />
seminar in as many weekends), is not for the speakers&#8230;<br />
although I learn from most of them, it&#8217;s for the networking.</p>
<p>I&#8217;ve probably chatted with, had meals with, taken photos<br />
with, or stood around in the hallway talking with 70% of the<br />
people in the room.</p>
<p>The first night that we were here, my friend Ross Goldberg<br />
hosted a nice little networking party.  The hot wings were<br />
excellent. The fresh fruit was even better.  Many also<br />
seemed to enjoy the booze&#8230; I just enjoyed the company and<br />

<p>The reason that I&#8217;d leave my nice comfortable home office,<br />
and travel to seminars, and live off hotel food, numerous<br />
weekends each year&#8230; is  that it pays handsomely.</p>
