My friend Tom Brownsword and his daughter “tagged me” so now I
need to share five random/curious things about myself. Here’s
where Tom did it:

So here we go:
1) When I was little I raised pet rabbits and had a pet pig
that follow me all around the farm. She would break out of the
electric fence, and just follow me around at time
2) My favorite sport is karate where I enjoy the psychological
aspect of competing. I use to enter matches and win largely
before the match even started just by intimidating my opponent.
If that didn’t work, I’d hit him a little hard the first
time, be warned by the judges, and from then on, any time that
I moved, my opponent would instinctively respond. Pain does
that to you
3) My favorite food is banana pudding. Not the kind made
with instant pudding but the kinds made with a custard that’s
actually baked, and topped. As a child, I could never get
enough of that stuff, and I never grew up.
4) Most of my youth, my immediate family didn’t have a
telephone, a television, a car, or airconditioning. We didn’t
consider ourselves deprived. Now, there is actually nothing
that I really want that I don’t get. I understand the expression,
“Even before you ask, it is given unto you.”
5) When I use to fly C-130 aircraft in Alaska, one of my
jobs was to make sure that our fuel didn’t freeze. Below
a certain temperature, the aviation fuel could actually
gel, and at that point we’d crash since our engines would
flameout. It took a certain amount of time flying in
those extreme temperatures before this happened, but that
was one of many things that I actually monitored as we
fly the Alaskan skies
6) As a bonus, what’s really stange is that I think Tom’s
an “alright” guy. Anytime he tells me anything to do with
computer security, I listen!
