The Best Way To Learn Internet Marketing
Today’s issue is just a heart-to-heart talk.
I hope that you don’t mind
From time to time, I compare myself to other online
marketers. I do this most often when I encounter
someone still struggling. I do this because I’m
trying to discern what the difference is between
us.
If you’re familiar with me, you’ll agree that I’m
certainly “nothing special”
I grew up on a tobacco farm, where I was on government
subsistence (welfare) all of my youth! That was
followed by fumbling through college, the military,
and then onto the Internet. It was not always totally
smooth, as I share in my bio at: http://GitOffThePorch.com
Yet, I do now live that dream… “the internet lifestyle.”
Just one day this week brought me more than $24,000 in
profits for example. Here’s partly how my week flows for
the voyeur in all of us:
- On Monday I finished up the 5-part teleseminar series
with my friend Frank Garon. Frank and I will now turn
the 10 hours of audio from those calls into a CD set.
- On Tuesday, I followed up with an editor on my cookbook.
They’ll start printing the latest edition in a week, and
I wanted this version to have more color photos, and
to make a few corrections. I out-sourced part of the
editing.
- Tuesday, I also did some intensive planning with
partners on a television cooking show that we’ll start
filming as soon as practical. I’m an information
marketer, and I view a televised cooking show as just
another info product… just like an ebook
Some of the proceeds from the cooking show will be
used to build and fund the operation of at least one
homeless shelter. The shelter project actually kicked
off with a fire sale, long ago. It is a HUGE project,
and one that will eventually make a big difference
in many lives.
For the television show itself, there will be
opportunities for some readers to be in the “studio
audience” and for interested parties to even OWN part
of the show.
- Tuesday, I also coordinated with my fulfillment center
to “ramp up” production of a course that I own the rights
to… on tax liens. That course is one that I bought a
license for from IMC, last year. They only offered a few
licenses, the topic was hot, and so I bought the rights.
Now, I sell this course for $197 from my site at:
http://InsiderLiens.com
If you look at that page, it’s incredibly plain. I do
need to spice it up some, but when I’m selling an item
with a $170+ profit margin per set sold, and they ARE
selling, then the page is not “broken”
Like many of you, I own resale and reprint rights to
dozens of really great products. I own private label
rights to over 100 products with great potential. I also
have over a dozen different pieces of software currently
in the hands of programmers for upgrades, rewrites, or
minor fixes.
Where I’m different from many people is that when I buy
the rights to one of these products I flow out when and
how I’m going to release it. It doesn’t…. generally…
just sit on my hard drive.
- Tuesday, I also made final plans for my trip to Rich
Schefren’s seminar this coming weekend. I’ll be hanging
out there with some very sharp minds, and some very
serious online business people. These are people who
don’t mind the $2997 price tags on many of Rich’s seminars
because we easily walk away with 10 times that much value.
I’m not telling you that because I’m trying to sell you
on Rich. In fact, you can tune in to one of his seminar
sessions absolutely free. All you need to do is register
at: http://schefren.infusionsoft.com/go/live/L423077
Then on Saturday, just tune in for live streaming video
right from the seminar. You do need to go ahead and signup
now because only so many people can be allowed to access
the broadcast before he reaches his bandwidth limits. I
don’t know what those limits are, but video is resource
intensive on a web server
- Today, Wednesday, I’m doing a free teleseminar with Terry
Telford and Richard Butler. I’m doing this as a gift for
my readers because Terry and Richard are two very sharp
mentors/coaches. You can register for this teleseminar,
which is at 4pm CST today, at this URL:
http://www.yourmarketingjournal.com/telecrawford.html
The URL above tells you what we’ll cover on the teleseminar,
and I don’t want to pitch you here. The page does a good
job of telling you why you should be there.
- Thursday will be very busy and include a live radio
interview, and last minute preparations for my trip to
Rich’s seminars. It will also include consulting sessions
with several clients, as well as coaching session with the
TaxSmartAlliance that I’m a part of.
If you want to know more about “The Alliance” ask me in a
personal email. I’ll just share with you that it’s seven
and eight-figure online earners exploring a lot of things
together. You don’t have to be in that income range to join
us, but it IS by-invitation-only. That’s why I asked you to
contact me if you wanted to know more. Just email me
willie.crawford@gmail.com
- Friday, I will drive to Rich’s seminar. I’ll drive because
it’s actually as convenient as flying, and I’ll use the
drive time to listen to some of the audio CD’s that I’ve
set aside for the trip. So, I’ll be “working” during the
drive
I titled this session, “The Best Way To Learn Internet
Marketing” and that wasn’t just a spurious title. You see,
I’ve discovered that the best way to learn Internet marketing
is by studying and doing internet marketing at the same
time. It’s by totally immersing yourself in it.
Notice that there are two parts.
Many people have the studying part down, but they get so
wrapped up in that part that they never get to “the doing.”
You have to at some point, start doing. “Paralysis by
analysis” seems to keep most people from actually ever getting
to the doing part.
I totally immerse myself in the doing part by attending
live events and surrounding myself with people who are also
“doing.” That’s because we tend to pick up the habits of
those that we are around the most.
Let me show you how “immersed” I am over the next 2 months:
- February 10th – 11th, I’m at Rich’s seminar that I already
mentioned.
- February 16th – 18th, I’m at JV Alert Live and StomperNet -
both seminars are in the same Orlando hotel.
- February 23rd – 25th, I’m at Mike Filsaime’s Long Island
seminar
- March 2nd – 4th, I’m at Donna Fox’s seminar in Las Vegas.
- March 23rd – 25th, I’m at Yanik’s Underground Online Seminar
III in Washington, DC.
That’s SIX live events in FIVE different weekends. You’re
probably thinking, “Of course, you get PAID to speak at
seminars.” So, let me add that the only one of these
events that I’m scheduled to speak at in the JV Alert
seminar in Orlando.
At all of these events I’ll be doing face-to-face
networking, finalizing details on joint ventures, meeting
with coaching clients, and learning what is currently
working best for others in my industry.
I will admit that part of my motivation IS that I have
a product release planned for March. The product is
“potentially” the biggest release in Internet marketing
history. That’s a pretty bold statement. Doing the
coordination to make that possible face-to-face is
necessary.
I’ve said numerous times that one of the keys to
landing large joint ventures IS meeting and
interacting with people face-to-face. That’s the only
way that I know of the be able to read their body
language and get a real feel for whether or not the
person is someone that you want a long-term business
relationship with.
When I was back in college, I learned the value of
total immersion. Growing up on “the wrong side of the
track,” I wasn’t steered towards the college prep
courses in high school. So, I arrived at college
never having studied chemistry, physics, or any
foreign language. I now speak 5 languages well
enough to “get by”
In college, when I was exposed to my first French
course, I was simply immersed in French. From the
very first word out of the professor’s mouth, I knew
that we were going to study and speak French in the
class. Over the course of that semester, I spent a
lot of time listening to and practicing French…
and did as well in the class as classmates with 2-3
years of French in high school!
I’m convinced that this MAY by the best way to learn
Internet marketing. Study it so much that it’s
bubbling out of all of your pores, but at the same
time, jump right in and start doing. The very first
words out of my French professor’s mouth was to
ask each student for their names. I very quickly
mastered that expression… and many more.
You can learn, and master, and prosper from Internet
marketing in the same total immersion method.
Today, do these two things:
1) Register for the call with Terry Telford and
Richard Butler first:
http://www.yourmarketingjournal.com/telecrawford.html
2) Then register to watch the streaming video
broadcast directly from Rich Schefren’s seminar:
http://schefren.infusionsoft.com/go/live/L423077
3) Go here to pick up some free unrestricted private
label rights to some really nice products, but plan
on actually doing something with the ones that fit
in with what your doing. Get those at:
http://ProfitMagician.net
So far, you haven’t spent a penny
4) This will cost you just a few dollars but it’s
a way to accelerate your total immersion. Go watch these
video lessons on how to build an online business step-by-step
by someone who’s actually done it. That’s the best type
of person to learn from… but you knew that.
Watch the step-by-step how-to video lessons at:
http://www.ecomincs.com/app/aftrack.asp?afid=549605
Do these things and you’re WELL on your way.
Really
