Editorial:
I've spent much of this last week adding audio to
several of my sites. Some of my friends who are
very big marketers shared with me the results of
testing they had done with audio. With virtually
everyone I discussed this with, they had all
experienced increased conversion rates after adding
audio. Audio on a website adds a whole new dimension.
It shows your website visitors that your are real
and allows you to instantly bond with them. Nothing
else on your website compares to the human voice.
I first noticed the use of website audio on John
Reese's Ebay Secrets Revealed site. Then Armand
Morin introduced Audio Generator. That's one of three
products that I tested. I wanted something that was
easy to use and not too expensive.
Audio Generator is very easy to use. With Armand's
system, your audio files are actually hosted on his
servers. You pay $1 a day for this service. That
was the biggest drawback to this product for me. Yes,
it's just $1 per day, $30 per month, but that's $360
per year. With Audio Generator you call a phone
number and record your message. Then you just paste
some code into your webpages that puts the button
on your page. It's that simple.
With Audio Generator, you can record an unlimited
number of messages. There is a small fee for making
each recording. The sound files are encoded in the
flash format which is virtually universal.

The second product I investigated was Jay Jennings'
Sonic Generator. I didn't really want to learn how
to use a new program... I hate the learning curve
you have with most software. However, with Jay's
software, I had actually uploaded my first website
audio in under 10 minute. I just followed the step
by step tutorial that he included with the software.
With Sonic Generator, you create your own MP3 files
and then upload them and a few associated files to
your server. It's really very simple. You do need
to have a way of creating the MP3 files outside of
the software itself. That's not a real problem in
that most Windows Operating System comes with an
audio recorder. Under the start menu you just select
Accessories, then Entertainment, then Sound Recorder.
This program lets you quickly create a .wav file.
After you get your .wav file, you need to convert
them to MP3. There are many audio file converters
available free, or as shareware, so that's not a
problem. Some file converters are better than others
of course. I only tried two. Some programs will allow
you to perfect the sound of your recordings to where
they are professional quality.

I also looked at Sound Nails, at

Nails converts MP3 files
to flash. Soundnails was recommended to me by a friend
because he didn't want to post MP3 files to his site
since these can be copied by anyone. I didn't care
about that since I was only posting testimonials and
short greetings on my sites. Sound Nails offers a
free 30 day trial, and may be the perfect solution for
some... especially if you don't want people to be able
to copy your files.
I encourage you to look at all three of these products
and then decide what is best for your needs. For me,
Sonic Memo was the perfect solution. I've heard of
people getting up to 300% higher conversion rates after
adding sound to their sites. I'm convinced that this
is a great idea.
This week also witnessed the Joint Venture Alert site
opening up membership to the general public. Prior
to the 15th, this site was limited to only a handful
of top level marketers who served as beta testers.
